Active Transportation Infrastructure

Greenways, pathways, and separated bicycle lanes provide convenient and safe connections throughout the City. As active transportation routes, they complement existing infrastructure such as sidewalks, and provide opportunities for walking, running and cycling for leisure or commuting. The presence of pathways and cycling routes that connect to services and amenities is an important feature in encouraging residents to walk and cycle. The length of greenways, pathways and separated bike lanes is a measure of how liveable and complete Surrey's neighbourhoods are, and the City aims to see an upward trend over time.
