Car Ownership

Driving a vehicle consumes more fuel and emits more greenhouse gases than other modes of transportation such as taking transit, biking, and walking. There is a clear link between car ownership and car use, and increases in car ownership are likely to create more air, noise, and water pollution, greater consumption of land for transport, and less compact and complete communities. The City aims to see car ownership trend down over time. Data source: Insurance Corporation of BC.
